The Healing Pen uses the modality of iontophoresis to immediately drive micronized amorphous silver ions through the skin directly into the lesion. The treatment is painless, but may produce a slight tingling sensation when used on mature or open lesions. The electrode that touches the skin is 99.9% pure silver.
